3) Don't assume the medication is not available.

Check and ask!


4) Don't assume they will always take medication from you.

Encourage them when they refuse!


5) Don't assume the patient is stubborn.

Find out why they are not cooperating!


6) Don't assume they know why you are giving them a urinal, bedpan or commode.

Educate them!


7) Don't assume the patient will always call you when the infusion is finished.

If they didn't call after a while, check they may have fallen asleep!


8) Don't assume you know the procedure.

Learn it before you do it!


9) Don't assume he knows he needs to fast before surgery.

Inform him!


10) Don't assume he knows he should not eat immediately after surgery.

 Explain to him!


11) Don't assume she knows how to breastfeed.

 Assist her!


12) Don't assume she knows how to clean the umbilical stump. Teach her!


13) Don't assume he will know the right food to eat.

Tell him.


14) Don't assume they will always come for check ups.

 Call them!

We don't want a repeat of what happened during the semi finals.
