DON'T BE A POOR WIDOW👨‍🦲️

A widow may be described as a woman who has lost her spouse by death and has not married again.

The definition above is the main description of a widow but what we see around us is quite different.

Widowhood is not synonymous with poverty, they are two different words with different meaning.

A widow is someone who lost a spouse, as people lose parents, siblings,friends etc.

What point do l want to butress with all of this, most women  suffer undue hardship after the death of their spouse.

WHY DO WOMEN SUFFER AFTER THE DEATH OF THEIR HUSBAND??

- When they are housewives and have no source of income.

- When a woman does not know anything about her husband's business and his account.

- Bad widowhood practice; where a widow is not allowed to inherit her husband's wealth.

-When a husband leaves no will for the family.

- lf a woman is too lazy to work.

-when a widow depends on NGOs or charity organizations for her survial

WHAT TO DO🤔

- No matter how rich your husband is, always have your own source of income.

- Husbands who are up to 50 years or even below should write their will.( Writing your will is not signing your death warrant rather it means planning for unforseen circumstances)

- lf your husband insist that he doesn't want you to work, also insist that he must set up a business in your name that will generate money for you.

- For men who are from  communities where your wife is not allowed to inherit your properties after death, endeavor to acquire properties in your wife's or children's name.

- Husbands should let their wives know the banks they have account with, if you don't trust your wife you can inform somebody you can trust.

-Women should be educated and know their right, if you know your rights no one can infringe on your right even if your spouse is not around.

- Hire a lawyer if need be in situations where you can't help yourself.

- Brothers and uncles,🥴🤒 try to hustle and make money when others are making money and not wait for your brother and uncle to die to inherit his properties.

CONCLUSION

-Being a widow is not a curse neither is it a taboo.

 -Widows are like every other women in the society.

- Women should "step up their game" do something to earn a living.

- Try to be involved in your husband's business even when he doesn't want you to get involved.

- some women have carried on with their husband's business after their death and the business even became better.

- some women never knew what happens in their husbands businesses, most of this women suffer after the death of their spouse  even when enough resources was left for them.

- lf you and your husband are civil or public servant, look for another sustainable source income to compliment your finances( l know this may be difficult sometimes, but start  something no matter how little.) Nobody will pay you your husband's salary when he is dead😥

Let your WIFE and CHILDREN know what you do and get involved!

Nobody knows his/ her DEATH day.

Women do something NOW! so you don't become a POOR WIDOW.
